New Trafik Artist Album
This latest Trafik album is nearing completion, and will be released on Global Underground. It sees a return to the more eclectic feel of their first album Bullet back in 2004, and according to the boys themselves it is "easily our best work yet." With the return of Rachel Lamb's enchanting guest vocals, there are a number of new vocalists to the fold: Tricia Lee Kelshall, best known for her classic work on Way out West's 'Mindcircus', and hotly tipped newcomers Jess Roberts and Eliza Lawson.
'Cinematic', 'aggressive' and 'epic' are amongst early review comments. Expect robots and much more.
'Star Gazing' - Trafik DJ Mix Series
The 'Star Gazing' mix series, broadcast on the Triptik show on Frisky Radio has been created by Trafik as a forerunner to their new studio album. The sets appear to be taking the internet by storm with quotes including "I love the 'wow where did that come from' factor", "Almost cried. Simply Majestic" and, our personal favourite, "kick ass bitches!!!".
Treading the lines that bind soundtracks, chillout, breaks, house, techno, progressive, indie and space disco, incorporating exclusive bootlegs and edits along the way, all the mixes are put together using the innovative editing skills that Trafik are renowned for. Film scores have been perfectly glued to chemical beats, creating previously unheard mixes, as well as numerous parts of the same track that have been carefully crafted, molded and blended into brand new versions. The musical ethos being, to quote Joe Meek, "if it sounds right, it is right".
